The team behind DoctuS

The DoctuS development team has a dozen years of experience in business consulting and training related to Knowledge Management, Decision Making and Leadership. The members of the team are:

  • Business experts
  • Knowledge engineers
  • Mathematicians

The science behind DoctuS

  • In the case of deduction, the explicit knowledge of the expert is acquired in the form of "if... then" (logical) rules. This method is also called rule-based reasoning.
  • For induction, a modified ID3 algorithm is used, which determines the "if... then" rules using cases drown from the experience of the expert. This method is called case-based reasoning.
  • The induction method is also capable of discovering underlying patterns between data stored in databases or data warehouses, thus enabling data mining. Statistical cluster analysis is used to convert numbers to values.
  • The user interface is an html page, where the user can select the values of the attributes for certain cases. Some of the values are retrieved from databases. On-page reasoning and server-side reasoning are also included in DoctuS.
  • For the developer interface, a shell-based approach is used. The shell software runs under Window, thus buttons and commands have a familiar look and feel.
